Pikeville, TN May 2025: Presley Healthcare is proud to announce that Pikeville Urgent Care PLLC, located at 344 E Church St in Pikeville, has been awarded a $2 million 'Healthcare Resiliency' Grant by the Tennessee Department of Health.
This significant investment is part of the Rural Healthcare Resiliency Program, launched in 2022 to improve health outcomes for underserved and remote communities across the state.
Since acquiring Pikeville Urgent Care in 2023, Presley Healthcare has prioritized high-quality, accessible healthcare for Bledsoe County and surrounding rural areas. The clinic specializes in both urgent and primary care services.
“Rural healthcare is at the forefront of everything we do,” says Johnny Presley, CEO and Owner of Presley Healthcare. “Receiving this grant allows us to make a real impact—right here in this community.”
With the grant funding, Pikeville Urgent Care will significantly increase its service offerings and clinical capacity. Plans are underway to renovate and expand the medical facility to introduce specialized services, including neurology and psychiatric care.
“Adding these specialties means patients won’t have to travel far for expert-level care. That’s a game-changer for the community,” says Presley.
One of the most anticipated additions is a state-of-the-art imaging department.
“Our new X-ray and CT machines will allow us to perform advanced diagnostic testing right here in our Pikeville clinic,” Presley explains. "We’re proud to be the first rural health care facility to offer these essential services in an in-office setting—a significant advancement for rural medicine and a major step forward in improving access to quality care.”
The expansion doesn’t stop at the clinic’s walls.
“We’re also launching a brand-new mobile unit,” says Kelly Judd, Director of Business Development and Operations at Presley Healthcare. “This mobile clinic will serve Bledsoe and surrounding counties, helping address basic healthcare needs and follow-ups where access may be otherwise limited.”
Beyond improving healthcare access, the grant will help strengthen the local economy.
“This is not just an investment in healthcare—it’s an investment in jobs,” Judd adds. “We’re growing our team and bringing more opportunities to the area.”
Pikeville Urgent Care continues to deliver a full range of services—from urgent treatments and primary care visits to laboratory testing, preventative screenings, immunizations, and counseling support.
“We’re passionate about delivering care that’s both accessible and compassionate,” said Katheryn Conatser, Regional Manager at Presley Healthcare. “This expansion will allow us to serve more patients with a broader scope of care.”
“This investment will generate new jobs, allow additional training opportunities for our existing team. It’s a full-circle impact—improving care and strengthening our workforce.” Says Conatser.
Johnny Presley is no newcomer to rural healthcare. A practicing physician assistant, Presley owns and operates several medical facilities across Tennessee, including clinics and hospitals in Fentress, Clay, Putnam, Scott, Anderson, Cumberland, and Roane Counties. He also partners with Big South Fork Medical Center to staff its emergency department.
“Rural healthcare is vital,” says Presley. “Whether it’s a routine checkup or a life-threatening emergency, minutes matter. We’re fortunate to be able to play a role in improving care where it’s needed most.”
