Presley Healthcare and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are looking for information about a recent break-in at the Cumberland River Hospital, located at 100 Old Jefferson St. in Celina, TN. Although the hospital closed in 2020, it still serves as office space for Presley Healthcare, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Sometime early last week, someone broke in, damaging two exterior doors, several interior doors, and removing the hospital’s camera servers. While the building isn’t open to the public, security and safety are still top priorities.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Presley Healthcare would reopen the Cumberland River Medical Clinic, connected to the old hospital. Director of Operations Kelly Judd says that’s still the goal. However, with the break-in and damage, the team has to focus on repairs and security upgrades, which slows things down.

Judd states that they have been working to reopen the clinic as a Rural Health Clinic and has been making upgrades to meet all state and federal guidelines that an RHC must meet to operate. "Our goal is still to provide the healthcare services that clay county needs, and our goal timeframe was to reopen this fall but it does take time with all the paperwork and renovations and now with the unauthorized entry into the facility it is a set back" says Judd.

Highway Patrol officers regularly visit or on site, but this incident still managed to happen. New security cameras have been installed inside and outside the facility and all agencies with offices inside facility have been briefed and implantation's of new security measure's have been implemented.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol at 931-528-8496 and ask for Lieutenant Flatt.

Entering or damaging a facility that houses state or federal offices is a serious crime and can lead to arrest and fines.
