On a quiet bend of Main Street, where time seems to slow and the hum of rural life dominates, the future of healthcare in this Appalachian town is quietly taking shape.
Behind the modest brick façade at 3062 Main Street sits the next chapter for Pikeville's Healthcare, a revitalization project that could redefine medical access for the town’s 1,600 residents. But before the first nail is driven or architectural lines are drawn, the groundwork is being meticulously laid.
Pikeville Urgent Care, a local provider under the umbrella of Presley Healthcare, LLC, recently announced that it is accepting sealed bids to kick off the transformation of the former hospital site. The call is for two critical components: a structural engineering assessment and architectural design services.
These early evaluations will determine the viability and scope of a full-scale renovation effort one aimed squarely at modernizing the facility while honoring its historic presence in the heart of downtown.
Interested firms have until September 12 at 1:00 p.m. CST to submit their proposals. The bids must be addressed to:

The momentum for this project began earlier this spring when Pikeville Urgent Care was awarded a $2 million Healthcare Resiliency Grant by the Tennessee Department of Health.
The grant, part of a state-wide initiative to fortify rural healthcare infrastructure, provides the financial backbone for the facility’s planned upgrades. Once complete, the clinic will offer expanded services including on-site X-ray, CT imaging, and a new mobile unit designed to extend care into more remote corners of Bledsoe County.
This is not just about bricks and mortar, it’s about creating tangible access to critical healthcare services for a community that often must travel far for specialized care.
The building itself is steeped in local history. Once a hospital serving generations of Pikeville families, the site has stood largely dormant in recent years. Now, thanks to Presley Healthcare’s vision and the state's investment, it's poised to become a cornerstone of the town once again, this time as a state-of-the-art medical clinic.
“We’re excited to renovate and upgrade the current facility,” said Kelly Judd, Director of Operations for Presley Healthcare. “This is more than a renovation, it’s a community investment.”

In Pikeville, where neighbors wave from porches and stories linger like morning mist in the mountains, the promise of better healthcare carries weight beyond convenience. It means even better healthcare coverage for a rural community. And perhaps most importantly, it means the town, like the building at its center, is still growing, still evolving, still believing in a healthier tomorrow.
In a place where every family has a story that once passed through the halls of 3062 Main Street, the future of care is now coming full circle.
